I've mounted the Scottoiler's reservoir at the right side of the bike, behind the wind deflector. This way,
it's hidden from view, and also, the wind deflector protects it from dirt.
Although it's hidden from view, I can still fill and adjust it without having to remove anything from the bike.
These were my reasons for choosing the right side, and not the left side for mounting the Scottoiler:
- At the right side, there's more room between the cylinder and the wind deflector
- The right side is easier to access when the bike is on its side stand (easier for filling the reservoir)
- The vacuum screw at the right side was free to use (that of the left side is used by the fuel tap)
For mounting the Scottoiler, I made a small, L-shaped metal plate. The top of this metal plate is bolted to the radiator
(roel1.jpg). The bottom of it rests on the peg, which supports the wind deflector
(roel3.jpg).
The reservoir is attached to that metal plate, using some of the parts, which were delivered with the Scottoiler.

Here is a picture that shows(not really) how I mounted the large tank
inside the wingrack on the left side.I had to cut it a little but it
works great.I can even fill it!
I also made the dripper go to the middle of the chain as apposed to just
the outside.
- Peter "Piet" Lohmüller mounted
the tank on his left crashbar.
- Tank mounted between rear mudguard and license plate.
Spotted during ITT'98 on a Dutch TA.
- Gregor Hermens cut the white guide tube
in two in order to route it between the white chain guard and the swing arm.

I stowed it under the seat, hiding behind the left side fairing, in that
compartment from where the air is sucked into the filter.
I managed to install the drip tip at the sprocket's 6 o'clock level, without
removing the rim (as per scottoiler's advise), by bending it slightly.
Actually, the drip tip was already bent when supplied. That's why I thought
of setting it up like that... :-)
- Christian Lappöhn constructed
a L and doubleL shaped V2A holder (155x30x1,5mm) and mounted Scottie behind the
left front fairing, as to be seen on the pic.

I mounted the tank within the frame triangular in the near of the left pillion's
footrest and the airfilter box, using the shipped holder and 60*20*2 mm aluminium
plate I made. The oil tube I fixed to the the rear
screw of the white plastic chain guard, using the shipped holder you can see
in the pic. The vacuum hose is connected to normally unused
(only for carb syncronisation) front cylinder's vacuum socket.
